The Korean actor, Kim Seon Ho has been the attention after his role of ‘Good Boy’ in K-drama ‘Start-up’ last year. The charming man finally made his drama comeback with actress Shin Min Ah in the latest drama remake ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’ airing on 28 August 2021 in tvN and Neflix!

Kim Seon Ho who is already in his 35 started the TV career in 2017 with KBS drama ‘Good Manager’ and later on make his appearance in ‘Welcome to Waikiki Season 2’! His popularity went viral as he played as Han Ji-pyeong, the Mr. Dimple behind the success of his crush Dal Mi and a good grandson to her grandmother.

Fans are seriously having the ‘second lead syndrome’ because of how charming Kim Seon Ho was playing in the Netflix drama. Yes, I’m definitely team Ji-pyeong!

Seon Ho finally got his male lead role in the new drama with beautiful actress Shin Min Ah

About the drama ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’

Yoon Hye Jin is a woman who has both beauty and brains. Her life plan falls apart because of the tiny bit of righteousness in her heart, and after various obstacles, she moves to the seashore village Gongjin and meets Mr. Hong. Hong Doo Shik is known as Mr. Hong around town. He is unemployed officially, but he is a master of odd jobs who appears to help everyone in Gongjin with any situation they run into.

Soompi / MyDramaList

This drama is actually a remake of the Korean movie, ‘Mr. Hong’ aired back in year 2004 played by actor Kim Joo Hyuk and Uhm Jung Hwa! The male lead, Doo Sik or called us Mr. Hong is described as a man with perfect visuals and warm personality who is also a recognized ‘hero’ in the small village of Gongjin.

The main female character, Hye Jin (played by Shin Min Ah) just moved to the village with obstacles and challenges. As Mr. Hong is a helpful man, he helped out Hye Jin to settle down on the small village which makes them getting closer to each other!

Personally I love the actress Shin Min Ah as well since I watched her appearance in the popular drama Oh My Venus with So Ji Sub. She is definitely a true beauty with excellent acting experience! I can’t wait to see the chemistry between this couple, Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min Ah!

K-dramas that You can Watch When You Feel Sad this Summer (Ongoing Dramas in July 2021)

If you are like me, always falling into random sadness in certain time of the day, the fastest entertainment which can cheer you up in this hard time is through a K-drama binge!
10 Of IU's Best Songs For Every Type Of Feels | Soompi

In Malaysia, most of us are working and studying at home. I believe some of us do suffer a minor ‘mental breakdown’ because of all the stress we received from the surrounding. We are missing our partner, colleagues and friends we used to meet every single day!

In this post, I will recommend some ongoing Korean dramas in July which can help to relieve your negativity in this difficult month!

Nevertheless | (if you miss your boyfriend?)

Nevertheless

I’m not sure if this drama will be suitable to watch if you miss your boyfriend, because in some parts of the story I was cursing how ‘playboy’ the boy lead in this drama.

The on-going JTBC and Netflix romance drama, “Nevertheless” (μ•Œκ³ μžˆμ§€λ§Œ) is a remake of the popular comic story of a university art student, Na-bi (Han So-hee) falling in love to a handsome man, Jae-eon (Song Kang) who tend to be ‘nice’ to many girls.

The visuals of the two main leads are good enough as a ‘comforting’ element of this drama. Many girls will want a boyfriend who look like Song Kang, and maybe the sweet, romantic gestures of Jae-eon in the drama. If you are away with your boyfriend, this could bring in some sweet memories of dating him! But there are some scenes you just wish Na-bi just stay away from this selfish guy who was just being nice to all the girls.

Not sure if it helps with your stress, but seeing Song Kang himself is a happy pill already to me. πŸ™‚

Hospital Playlist | (if you miss your real buddies)

WHY IS K-DRAMA OK? – Denise J. Mallabo

I have not meet my friends for months, and I miss the time of hanging out with my best buddies. If you are missing your best friends, Hospital Playlist reminds you of your best moments of eating and having fun together between your buddies!

Hospital Playlist tells the stories of doctors, nurses and patients at a hospital in Seoul. The main characters were five senior doctors at professor-level in the hospital with their own different specialties, who were best buddies since they joined the university. You can see how different the impression of the character when he was working in the surgery room and when he was with their gang of friends!

Song-hwa and Jun-wan are the food monsters in the gang

Another fun thing what the good buddies always do every week is that they will practiced and perform a song in every week/every episode. The live band, ‘Mido and Falasol’ always perform old-school songs that bring back memories among the 20s!

Because of the huge support from the local and international viewers, the five buddies come back again with Hospital Playlist Season 2 broadcasting now every week in tvN and Netflix. Do tune in and meet these cute doctors when you feel down and lonely in the room! Their personalities and performances will bring comfort to you.

So Not Worth It | (if you need a great laugh)

So Not Worth It Season 2 Release Date: Renewed or Cancelled?

There are not much Korean dramas that can make you laugh throughout the whole episode! “So Not Worth It” tells the story of love and friendship among the international students residing in a university. As a sitcom genre, the drama tells different funny experiences that the characters face every day in the international dorm.

5 Reasons To Watch "So Not Worth It" - kdramadiary

All the characters portray university students from different countries, but they all communicate in fluent Korean. All episodes can be watched now in Netflix, and all of them are just 30 minutes, perfect for a short break entertainment when you feel stressed from work!

There are many funny scenes between the character. One of my favorite was Minnie from Thailand (played by Minnie from K-pop group, (G)I-DLE.) She was like me – a Korean content fan who watch K-drama everyday and dream to meet K-drama characters every night! I can relate so much to this drama as I’m also a university student, but hoping that I can meet a bunch of friends like them in a Korean university!

If you are feeling stressed and down in mood, watch ‘So Not Worth It’ for a short episode and you will come back fully energized!

What Upcoming K-Dramas that You Should Really Wait For in March/April 2021 #Navillera #SongKang #JoseonExorcist #GreatRealEstate

Are you just like me who is constantly waiting for new K-dramas to your bucket list even though you have a bunch of dramas yet to be cleared?

K-drama production team have never disappointed us, because new drama teasers from my Facebook feed and my Netflix email of ‘What’s Coming Soon…’ have all such new and interesting stories! Let me briefly showed you three K-dramas that we worth waiting for March and April this year!

Navillera | λ‚˜λΉŒλ ˆλΌ (March 22)

Do you have a dream to be a ballerina? Navillera tells a journey of a retired 70-year-old harabeoji to achieve his long life dream to be a ballet dancer. Asian society is very stereotype on male dancers especially with ballet, as something that is more feminine. But truly, ballet is a beautiful art beyond gender and age as what is implicated in this drama.

Current hit young actor, Song Kang really love all his fans. After Sweet Home and Love Alarm 2, he kept appeared on our screen with his amazing actors in different characters. From a gloomy high school student who attempted suicide in Sweet Home, to transform into a handsome, rich boyfriend material in Love Alarm, then now, a professional ballet dancer.

Song Kang being cute boyfriends in Love Alarm 2

According to Soompi, Navillera is actually a remake of a popular webtoon with the same name! A webtoon version of the drama poster was also released, and the production team definitely have found the right men for these characters!

I really can’t wait to see how the story goes and I really hope harabeoji can get to achieve his dream in the end. I’m expecting to cry a lot for this drama. Remember to stay tune for this drama which will be aired starting 22 March 2021 in tvN and Netflix!

Let us see some pictures taken of the cast during the press release!

Joseon Exorcist | μ‘°μ„ κ΅¬λ§ˆμ‚¬ (March 22)

When ‘exorcist’ comes into my mind, my first impression was the cross and fathers in churches. But this drama will bring us another version of the ordinary exorcist horror movies that we watched. Joseon Exorcist tells a fantasy story about a battle of exorcism to protect the people during Joseon dynasty against evil spirits who are drawn to human ambition and greed. In most Korean dramas, evil spirits drawn to people more if they have a stronger desire of greed, power and hatred.

According to Soompi (again, because they are the best), the demons who invaded the humans could control one’s mind that might look like zombies. These evil spirits have a great ambition, is to infiltrate whole of Joseon. Therefore, as King Taejong (by Kam Woo-sung) he fought to seal the evil spirits away to protect his nation of Joseon.

Jang Dong Yoon grabbed fans attention as a charismatic prince in this drama. I bet all of you might have met this talented actor from popular dramas School 2017 and Tale of Nokdu. As the Prince Chungnyeong who was initially an academician in the drama, he learnt to fight for his people in bloods and tears through real wars.

Stay tune to this chilly horror dramas from SBS production starting March 22 at 10 p.m. KST!

Great Real Estate | λŒ€λ°•λΆ€λ™μ‚° (14 April)

What! Another exorcist related drama? “Great Real Estate” or in Korean Daebak Real Estate is casted by the legendary actress Jang Na Ra and band idol Jung Yong Hwa! Jang Na Ra is an exorcist in this drama who runs a real estate which find haunted properties to chase away the spirits; while Jung Yong Hwa is a con-artist who used ghosts to get his business done. Both of them met and work together to unveil a secret. Well, I’m kinda curious how the stories will go now!

Both of these casts were among my favorite. I love Jang Na Ra as an actress (besides that her natural beauty), especially in the drama “The Last Empress”. That drama was so addicting with all those dramatic palace conflicts and she definitely nailed the character, with her experience in acting and that personal charm!

And of course the idol leader of the popular K-pop band of CNBLUE, Yong-Hwa! Despite of his great singing skills, he has been developing in the acting industry since 2009 in You’re Beautiful! After 4 years, he came back as a handsome con-artist and I guess all the Boice can’t wait to meet their idol in the small screen again!

Daebak Real Estate will be aired very soon on 14 April 2021 and remember to catch their chemistry in KBS!

Let’s watch their first reading of the drama!

All the fans are you ready for more Korean dramas in this spring? Remember to stay tune in MyDaehan for more updates!

Best Scenes (so far) of Vincenzo #songjoongki #netflix #kdrama

I’m seriously in craze of the recent Netflix (tvN) K-drama series, Vincenzo casted by the once charming soldier from Descendants of Sun, Song Joong-ki, beautiful charismatic actress, Jeon Yeo-bin and the hottest idol in 2PM, Ok Taec-yeon. The drama tells a story of an Italian Korean lawyer, Vincenzo Cassarano (casted by Song Joong-ki) who once worked in the Mafia as the consigliere (law advisor) in Milano, Italy. He came back to Korea, the place he was born and met a justice lawyer who helped to defend real innocent people. Throughout the story, Vincenzo was trying to achieve justice in his own way, protecting the goods one by fighting with the villain in the villain’s way, like the favorite lines in the drama in Italian, un diavolo scaccia l’altro ‘a devil punishes another devil’.

We can’t just get enough of Vincenzo sexy and charming looks with his expensive suits, posh watch, lay-back hair, perfect look, lean physique and deep Italian accent. In here, I pointed out so far the best scenes in Vincenzo that I just wanna replay them everyday!

Setting the whole vineyard in fire πŸ”₯

Vincenzo started the drama in a very villain way already. As the ‘second person’ of a mafia (bad guys) gang, he kept things short and simple, yet ‘explosive’ consequences. Well, maybe burning a whole vineyard is only level 1 for Vincenzo to be his things ‘done’ and delivering the message ‘don’t mess with me even though I look sexy’.

Vincenzo later in the episode also set an expensive car into fire, as a ‘warning’ / ‘don’t mess with me’ to his ‘brother’ in the mafia family. It’s really lucky for that guy as Vincenzo chose not to burn him together with the car.

Vincenzo (in πŸ’¦) and the showerhead 🚿

Fans can’t handle much of these ‘hotness’ and ‘wetness’ from Vincenzo! He really struggle a lot to adapt himself in this shabby building with bad water system. But we should be grateful, as the bad shower makes the overall showering session with Vincenzo to be more ‘memorable’ than usual. πŸ™‚

Does anyone think the orchestral music behind this scene is so matchy with Vincenzo reactions towards the shower?

Vincenzo cursing in Italian for (very long time) 😠

Cazzo! I’m not really sure how to curse in Italian correctly, but Vincenzo really teaches a lot of fans to ‘curse’ in the first episode! Song Joong-ki just sounded really like an Italian (for non-Italian speakers like us) and I’m really impressed on how much effort he has been putting in to master the character.

It’s not sick at all to listen Vincenzo speaking Italian for 3 minutes straight, it could be a very good lullaby to me!

Vincenzo ‘party’ instinct that saved the building 🍷

The mall tenants were worried as the notification of the building getting ‘bulldozed’ hit them. They were trying to find ways if they can prevent the destruction from happening (at least not that soon), and I have never expected Vincenzo could come out with this brilliant idea! I think the inspiration of the partying idea is from the Instagram he was scrolling that time. πŸ™‚ And those glass cheering shots viral-ing in Instagram!

Vincenzo and his ‘high food standard’ 🍝

We all know Vincenzo is a very high standard gentleman with excellent taste of fashion, attitude and of course, food! I think he only ate Michelin level foods back in Italy, and using this standard to evaluate a menu cooked by a humble (only Mr. Potato looking) chef are indeed ‘harsh’. Well, he still pays him every time, but what a chef often needs, is the respect.

I really enjoy this drama so much, because the story is very new, combining Italian aspects and the ‘dark hero’ concept in Vincenzo. I can’t wait to see the chemistry of Vincenzo and the female lead, Hong Cha-young as we might be expecting some ‘Italian boyfriend’ standard over here!

3 Korean Dramas You Must Not Miss in this season! (18 Again, Start-up, Record of Youth)

Please agree with me if you can be a couch potato for the whole full 24 hours when you are so wanted to finish off a K-series in a round! Or, anyone like me that can’t survive without watching Korean dramas?

People who have been questioning us why we love Korean dramas do not understand how beautiful and touching Korean dramas are! They are the soul of life! As the pandemic hits us hard, I believe a lot of us are staying at home working or studying, giving us (somehow) more chances to jump to our sofa and continue our K-series.

15 Golden K-Dramas That Are Always Worth Rewatching | Soompi

Personally I have finished off quite a number of on-going K-dramas, and some of them are REALLY REALLY GOOD that all humans on earth can’t miss! Therefore, let me share some of the dramas that I SUPER recommend you to watch if you haven’t!

18 Again | Rakuten Viki

18 Again (18 μ–΄κ²ŒμΈ)

Network: JTBC
Episodes: 16 (Completed)
Release Date: September 7 – November 10, 2020

Yoon Sang-Hyun
(Dae-Young)

Lee Do-Hyun

Lee Do Hyun
(Woo-Young)

This is by far the best drama I have watched for this year with such a good storyline and talented acting team. This drama is a remake of an popular American movie ’17 Again’ acted by Zac Efron which tell a story of a middle age uncle (Dae-young) from a normal family of a wife and 2 children being transformed into the younger self. Before he became younger, he was fed up with his life as he was facing problems in work and soon to have a divorce with his wife. He was very surprised when his look had turned just like back to when he was 18 years old out of the sudden. As he regained his old-body, he planned to restart his own life with a new identity of Woo-Young by getting back to high school and continue to play basketball that once he was a glory in.

18 Again: El remake mΓ‘s divertido que el original Β‘Solo en Corea! | VADER Series

(Spoiler Alert) What I love to watch is every time when Woo-Young was trying to be good friends with Shi-A and Shi-Woo who were actually his children. I can relate a lot when a father is always loving to his children but most of the time he can’t share good memories with them due to work and generation gap. Dae-young got to know what his children are facing in real life and try his best to help them achieve to their dream. A big part of this drama for me is about the genuine love of a father to his children.

Yuk, Intip Pesan Tersirat Yang Terkandung Dalam Drama "18 Again"!

Lastly of course, is the romance between Dae-Young and his wife Da-Jung. (Spoiler Alert) Throughout the whole drama, we can see a huge psychological change for both Dae-Young and Da-Jung from the beginning until the end of the drama. As their life gets tougher, this couple tend to take each other for granted, starting to blame each other for their relationship until they decided to have a divorce. Slowly, Dae-Young realized he was not being understanding to his wife all this while after he changed to his younger self, while Da-Jung finally found out how much suffer and pain his husband had been facing throughout the marriage. This drama definitely convey a clear message and an important lesson for most of the couples before they did decided to break up.

OOPS, I have spilled out a lot of tea! Don’t hesitate, put it in your drama bucket next if you haven’t watch them! I’ll give some picture of “Woo-young” (Lee Do-Hyun) to lure you to watch them!

Bae Suzy
(Dal-mi)

Start Up-Nam Joo Hyuk.jpg

Nam Joo-Hyuk
(Do-san)

Kim Sun-Ho

Kim Seon-Ho
(Ji-pyeong)

Currently, this drama is by far the most watched K-drama in Netflix after Record of Youth! Me, myself has been diving in this drama very deeply because of the setting and ‘second-lead syndrome’! This drama is about a group of youngsters challenges in starting their business with the current on-trend Artificial Intelligence technology. Dal-mi had a tough time growing up since her parents divorce, spending most of her time with Hal-meo-ni (grandma) after her dad passed away. She had a very good pen-pal friend (that was indeed fake) growing up sharing memories on letters that she decided to meet him in real life.

Apparently, Ji-pyeong was the fake pen-pal with using the name of Do-san as a favor for Hal-mo-ni. Everything comes together as three of them “eventually’ met each other in a Google office like start-up business center called Sandbox. Dal-mi and Do-san (real Do-san, not the pen-pal) started a new business project in Sandbox, while Ji-pyeong was their mentor.

I came to watch this because of Nam Joo-hyuk (as I really like him in Habaek!) and Suzy (I love Vagabond!) these two big acting stars, but I was truly “attracted” by Kim Seon-ho because of the character Ji-pyeong in this drama. Well, of course big part is because he is handsome too πŸ™‚

Ji-pyeong growing up as an orphan and he met Hal-meo-ni as he finished his high school winning a big prize from investment competition. He was no where to go and Hal-meo-ni ask him to stay with her for a short while until he had to go for college. Ji-pyeong see Hal-meo-ni more than anyone as what Hal-meo-ni did to him was a whole-life commitment for him which can’t be paid off by anything. Ji-pyeong was very straightforward in talking and have high self-esteem (which I think that’s how it makes him successful better!), but in reality he is very nice and warm in heart, whom feel empty sometimes without caring from friends and family.

I really like this character which sometimes I feel sad for him that he deserved more love and warmth in the drama. My best scenes from him are always when he met Hal-meo-ni (very genuine love) and being confused with Dal-mi. To appreciate Ji-pyeong and Seon-ho, I’ll like to spam with some of his charming photos!!!!! Watch it yourself and you’ll know Second Lead Syndrome is real!

Remember to follow Kim Seon-ho Instagram! #2ndleadsyndrome

Record Of Youth': everything you need to know about the Korean drama

Record of Youth (청좘기둝)

Network: TvN
Episodes: 16 (Completed)
Release Date: September 7 – October 27, 2020
Starring

Record of Youth-Park Bo-Gum.jpg

Park Bo-Gum
(Hye-jun)

Record of Youth-Park So Dam.jpg

Park So-Dam
(Jeong-ha)

Record of Youth-Byeon Woo-Seok.jpg

Byeon Woo-Seok
(Hae-hyo)

I’m very biased here because I have to admit I came for this drama 100% for Park Bo-Gum (he was too good in Boyfriend). Compared to the previous 2 recommendations, I have to say the story plot and setting are not as interesting, but still quite fresh for me. This story takes the entertainment industry as a setting theme, specifically towards the modelling and acting field. Hye-jun was a model (yes, very handsome) who once been popular for awhile until his agency (kinda) messed up everything. Modelling has always been his dream to pursue and what he insisted of doing despite of objection from his father. Interestingly, Jeong-ha was his loyal fan since he joined as model until both of them met in a fashion show where she worked as his make-up artist. Both of them get closer to each other until romance bloooooms!

While as the story might be a bit dull for some of the people, I still keep myself following this drama because not much K-dramas have reflected on the entertainment situations in Korea. Hye-jun decided to change his career into acting, giving himself the last chance before he gives up to enter the military. This character showed how someone love what he is doing, having a clear mind of what he want to pursue, breaking all the judgements and start from the basic. (Spoiler alert) Hye-jun did eventually became a very popular actor, winning many recognitions and awards, because of his hard work over the years and his good attitude/humbleness in the industry. Many said Hye-jun indeed very similar like Park Bo-Gum himself, as he is very down to earth and gives very good impression in front of many celebrities who have worked with him. I really like the chemistry between Hye-Jun and his manager Min-jae, and how cute their agency name called ‘Jjam-bbong’ (a Korean noodle dish)!

Do you know?

Park Bo-Gum is still serving in the military during the airing of this drama. Bo-gum is so sweet and caring for his fans, that he scheduled his tweets with his exclusive shoot photos after every single episode during the airing period! Many was amazed how Bo-gum can be so lovely and thoughtful, that’s why he is such a charming prince for many of us!

Top 5 K-Drama Locations to Travel To

Like many others, author has indulged herself in the many wonders of the K-drama world when introduced to the Korean culture. So when planning an itinerary, how can we miss out on the famous K-drama filming spots, so we can relive the romance and fantasy that we have watched on-screen?

Here are some of the top K-drama travel spots that author is aiming for!

Located near Seoul, it is a very beautiful island, with its beautiful tree lanes being the most popular background for photoshoots, and suitable in all seasons!

Just looking at Song Joong Ki makes my day *contented sigh*

Found on Wolmido Island near Incheon, the Wolmi Theme park is featured in the infamous Descendant on The Sun’s first episode, where soldier-brothers Yoo Si Jin and Choi Dae Young are spending their time off trying to win themselves β€œgirlfriends” – making up the show’s famous stuff toys.

Up to this day, there are still preserved Hanok that they use as cultural centers, tea house, accommodation, and restaurants.
