Despite of the fact that he is an ultimate ‘playboy’, we can’t deny his visuals. I mean who won’t fall in love with this guy’s perfect look! I have been following Song Kang from ‘Sweet Home’ and ‘Navillera’, and one of the reason I like this actor is his genuine acting skills and the visuals.

Song Kang has been trying out different concepts of characters, if you can observe, Song Kang have his best impression as a comfortable, gentle boyfriend look, generally in his 20s. (in fact he is just 27)

If you are like me, always falling into random sadness in certain time of the day, the fastest entertainment which can cheer you up in this hard time is through a K-drama binge!

In Malaysia, most of us are working and studying at home. I believe some of us do suffer a minor ‘mental breakdown’ because of all the stress we received from the surrounding. We are missing our partner, colleagues and friends we used to meet every single day!

In this post, I will recommend some ongoing Korean dramas in July which can help to relieve your negativity in this difficult month!

Nevertheless | (if you miss your boyfriend?)

I’m not sure if this drama will be suitable to watch if you miss your boyfriend, because in some parts of the story I was cursing how ‘playboy’ the boy lead in this drama.

The on-going JTBC and Netflix romance drama, “Nevertheless” (알고있지만) is a remake of the popular comic story of a university art student, Na-bi (Han So-hee) falling in love to a handsome man, Jae-eon (Song Kang) who tend to be ‘nice’ to many girls.

The visuals of the two main leads are good enough as a ‘comforting’ element of this drama. Many girls will want a boyfriend who look like Song Kang, and maybe the sweet, romantic gestures of Jae-eon in the drama. If you are away with your boyfriend, this could bring in some sweet memories of dating him! But there are some scenes you just wish Na-bi just stay away from this selfish guy who was just being nice to all the girls.

Not sure if it helps with your stress, but seeing Song Kang himself is a happy pill already to me. 🙂

I have not meet my friends for months, and I miss the time of hanging out with my best buddies. If you are missing your best friends, Hospital Playlist reminds you of your best moments of eating and having fun together between your buddies!

So Not Worth It | (if you need a great laugh)

There are not much Korean dramas that can make you laugh throughout the whole episode! “So Not Worth It” tells the story of love and friendship among the international students residing in a university. As a sitcom genre, the drama tells different funny experiences that the characters face every day in the international dorm.

All the characters portray university students from different countries, but they all communicate in fluent Korean. All episodes can be watched now in Netflix, and all of them are just 30 minutes, perfect for a short break entertainment when you feel stressed from work!

There are many funny scenes between the character. One of my favorite was Minnie from Thailand (played by Minnie from K-pop group, (G)I-DLE.) She was like me – a Korean content fan who watch K-drama everyday and dream to meet K-drama characters every night! I can relate so much to this drama as I’m also a university student, but hoping that I can meet a bunch of friends like them in a Korean university!

If you are feeling stressed and down in mood, watch ‘So Not Worth It’ for a short episode and you will come back fully energized!

Penthouse 3: Questions to be answered?

When we thought everything might get less complicated in the end of Season 2, but what we get at the last episode are just more questions and uncertainties. The writer Kim Soon Ok really know how to play with the viewers’ heart!

Joo Dan Tae, a villain who will never give up

In last episode, all of the Hera Palace Club members that were related to Min Seol A case were charged in court, bringing closure to the case and justice to her death. Of course, the number one villain Joo Dan Tae was charged for long term sentence, which he definitely deserved that.

But, teaser reveal that he actually managed to escape from the prison in season 3! We don’t quite sure what card did he had on hand that allowed him to be released from his sentence. But as we know he is the top villain in the drama, he will not be so easily ‘settled’ for the story to go on.

Logan Lee, is he really dead?

The biggest topic after the finale of season 2 was definitely the car explosion which ‘should’ kill Logan Lee that time while he was preparing to propose to Shim Su Ryeon.

There will be at least 1 real death in the seasons. But I want him to be alive. Penthouse won’t be the same without himmm 😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔

While I was watching this scene, in my mind, I believe Logan Lee must be alive, because of two main reasons: people don’t really die in Hera Palace besides Min Seol A; and Logan Lee is the main heroic character in the drama. Logan Lee has been receiving many support from the fans too, because he has been the main support to Shim Soo Ryeon and Oh Yoon Hee in winning the justice from the villain team.

Simply said, the only one who can ‘settle’ Joo Dan Tae will only be Logan Lee. If we look back all the scenes when JDT was caught in jail, Logan Lee was always the reason behind it.

Shim Soo Ryeon: Getting more furious and extreme?

I remember Shim Soo Ryeon in the first season was a mother and a wife with dignity, kindhearted and full of compassion to others. But slowly we know, this character is not someone you can mess up with if you have stepped into her boundaries.

After all, she has been holding back a lot of emotions behind his husband JDT, but she can’t just stand back watching her own daughter to be killed without getting the right justice. This is when Shim Soo Ryeon started to be firm and extreme in order to make her enemies suffer and pay for their price of harming Min Seol A.

Shim Soo Ryeon top enemy is Joo Dan Tae for sure. Not only did he intend to kill her own daughter and herself, but he also betrayed her by loving other women, stealing her land properties and harming their children. Who can stand back with all of these?

In the new teaser, we can see Shim Soo Ryeon to be more furious with scenes of her being emotional intending to ‘kill’ someone. As her man she loved was killed by plan, she got to find justice for Logan Lee and the man behind of this (which of course refers to Joo Dan Tae).

VINCENZO K-drama Highlights : We Bid Farewell to Our Beloved Corn Salad

With season finale just ended for us. We are sadly saying good bye to our ‘corn salad’ consigliere Vincenzo Cassano, Song Joong Ki. Overall drama had a smooth balance of comedy, action and suspense to it! It is definitely something to look forward to as you binge through the episodes.

What initially started to look like a cool action mafia series; suddenly turned comedy then turn suspenseful action in the first episode. Became an interesting twist to your regular K-drama stories. Definitely given points for Ok Taec-yeon on the 360 degree twist! but heyyy go and have fun getting agitated. (PS/ Kopiko overdid it. but the message was definitely sent through. lol)

Here’s a list of noteworthy savage claps the Kdrama well deserves and to look out for along the episodes.

1. Italian Speaking Song Joong Ki!

I will be honest, initially I felt that he might have not fit the look of a Mafia because of his baby face. but after knowing it carries a balance of Comedy to the episode, I understood why there was no ‘manly’ cast needed for this role. And which episode 1 first few minutes showcasing perfecto Italian speaking – tell me who would not be swoon over?

2. Savage sarcasms that puts you to laughter!

Yes. The whole series literally 70% comedy. Loved how it’s hinted along and still relatable to the story plot. as you watch you will go ‘oh yeahhh! gogogo!’ cheering Team Plaza along the way making it so fun to watch.

Please cue the music guys! this was my all time favourite scene! freaking flaunting it all the way.

3. Double Savage Kick ass moves

Kicking asses like it should be.

With all comedy in the series; loved the fact that there are parts where its serious and pretty impressive; Vincenzo is like unbreakable and the perfect mafia boy that has boys fangirling over him regardless.

4. Defying female lead norms – YOU GO GIRL – Hong Cha Young!

Hong Cha Young as the female lead! was totally caught off guard! The fact that the series had minimal romance – and showing she is just as capable and not clingy is already a win! Her character is something fresh and relatable because the personality just sinks and reflects that normal girls can be just as savage and random. I found some good GIFs to explain just that. To the boys out there – this is the real girls; well. most of us.

5. 2PM cameos and inserts of songs

Nickhun and Chansung will be in the drama as cameos; spot them and be amuse! Not sure if anyone notices – along the lines for Jang Han Seok – Ok Taecyeon has 2PM songs quotes along them too! Watch it and let us know in the comments what is it? – I smiled as I caught it! hope Hottest around the world will catch it too! Here’s the literally hint :

6. Protecting this baby at all cost.

Well, as silly as this lil puppy Han Seo can be; we were put into tears for the finale. I particularly felt watery eyes when they reveal a short clip of him and Vincenzo chilling as he tip him off on the Watch bug – being extra proud he bugged all the watches. I liked how his character progress but still maintain the innocence in him. I truly look forward to see more of him in the future. Kwak Dong-yeon fighting!

For the rest of the drama, I will let you judge and enjoy the ride. Not going to spoil much but definitely worth the watch.

Be ready to go through a round of laughter, anger, shock, annoyed, sadness, and ending it with slow clap. A big shoutout to the casts at the Plaza as well for the random laughs.

The Penthouse Season 2 Finale : Season 3 Theories? #Penthouse #펜트하우스

We have reached season 2 finale of The Penthouse. If you haven’t watch the last episode; please brace yourself for the cliffhanger that we will have to wait until June for Season 3 release. With the roller coaster ride we had went through since season 1; We can finally put an end to Min Seol A’s case and finally see justice is served for the Hera Palace’s gang. Here’s some breakdown thoughts to get everything sorted out while we ponder on some theories for Season 3?

Case is finally closed for Min Seol A’s case; for now.

We may see some sudden attack in Season 3 revealing that Oh Yoon Hee is not the real killer that has pushed Min Seol A at Hera palace, but judging for the closure for Shim Su Ryeon, and repent from Oh Yoon Hee and Seok Hoon and Seok Kyung’s past deed. It is safe to say, justice is served and she may finally rest in peace with Bae Ro Na’s visit to her grave with the trophy.

Closure for Ha Yoon Chul and the Hera Gang – Jail Time is served!

Season 2 finale was sweet victory to justice and seeing them all in court just puts a relief to everyone. I bet out hearts were at ease and finally those spoiled ‘parent’ who are full of themselves deserves every sentenced verdicted on them. But still boils us up because up until the end they were being childish trying to worm their way out of punishment. Thankfully Dr. Ha did not disappoint any further and has finally realize the wise choice to just admit all their doings. Thank you Dr. Ha, you have done the right thing.

Disappointing Kang Ma Ri and Lee Min Hyuk roles

Season 2 had a nice twist with Kang Ma Ri siding Oh Yoon Hee and reveals her story as a spa scrubber. I was looking forward to more Ma Ri and Yoon Hee moments; but it was hanging mid-way with her dogging back to Kyu Jin and Sang-A. It was sad to see finally a proper repent from her, but to see her back to her denial self in the court house just made it a waste of filler episodes. Min Hyuk, character was just being really oblivious to the situation; and the fact the ended it throwing a tantrum to Bae Ro Na made it even silly. But Seok Kyung’s warning to him on Je Ni’s dad comeback was just superr satisfying because hello? Min Hyuk was the major bully to Je Ni before, and now they are being all hating on Bae Ro Na? Again, the denial attitude for him is abit over.

Shim Su Ryeon Revival is fully revealed; Na Ae Gyo’s story were hinted nicely

All in all – Season 1’s questions were fully answered when we were left hanging as Joo Dan Tae stabbed the ‘Su Ryeon’ and wow-ed the entire world, leaving us begging for her to not die. While fan’s theories did came to fact; we are still looking forward for more information and gaps to be filled for the story. For now, Su Ryeon unnie is here to stay with even more vengeful spirit.

But with all questions answered? WHY ARE WE GETTING A 12-Episode Season 3?!

Well, here’s questions that will definitely leave us in despair for the next few months; anyone having great theories to clear out heads to the cliffhanger ending?

1. WHO IS MR. BAEK’s FRIEND – YOON GI WHERE LOGAN MEET ON THE PLANE?
   On the line of good and evil, why the hell was he there with Logan for his proposal? You don’t just invite a new guy to sit in the car and join in for a proposal after few hours of meeting. And surely won’t be as friendly if he was Mr. Baek(Joo Dan Tae’s friend). Hmm.. ?
   
   
2. SO IS KANG MA RI’s HUSBAND ON JOO DAN TAE’s SIDE? EVEN AFTER BEING THE SITTING DUCK IN JAIL FOR THE PAST CRIME?
   So base on the facial expressions from the last episode and the bump with Su Ryeon at her warehouse, we can only think that the old geezer with the bomb was probably arrangement from him for Joo Dan Tae. Or – he could be there to meet her and discuss on deals; Who knows? But we know he is the core member for Season 3 for sure.
   
   
3. WHAT KIND OF STORY WOULD THE 12 EPISODE BE?
   With all pretty much ended; now suspected they would unfold stories of why Joo Dan Tae get crazy attacks when he sees Blood on his hands, or Eun Byul’s getaway and of course revenge for Logan Lee? As much as I personally hated the death bomb for precious Logan, but this ending might put a lot off fans closure to continue season 3. I don’t know, my hype is definitely not there. So I won’t be as crazy waiting.
   
   
4. WHERE IS EUN BYUL WITH CRAZY OBSSESIVE TEACHER?
   Leaving without a trace before the court case; Eun Byul was spared to see so much of the facts and dramas happening in the court for her parents; but hey, her mental state might not be able to handle it anyway.
   
   
5. DID LOGAN LEE REALLY DIE?
   Well, The Penthouse team, is known for making people think of death and they actually did not really die as they were planned out. But for the scene of the bomb for Logan this time, it was quite obvious it was not expected by him, as he waved at his loved one and the Bomb really did exploded right in-front of the eyes of the oldie culprit and Su Ryeon, so I am guessing no revival might be even possible for him. Unless there is some special vortex or super power barrier that could have prevented him from direct explosives. The car was literally in flames – chances of survial – 1%. We shall sadly bid farewell to our beloved Logan Lee. Leaving us a furiously mad Su Ryeon for season 3.

Best Scenes (so far) of Vincenzo #songjoongki #netflix #kdrama

I’m seriously in craze of the recent Netflix (tvN) K-drama series, Vincenzo casted by the once charming soldier from Descendants of Sun, Song Joong-ki, beautiful charismatic actress, Jeon Yeo-bin and the hottest idol in 2PM, Ok Taec-yeon. The drama tells a story of an Italian Korean lawyer, Vincenzo Cassarano (casted by Song Joong-ki) who once worked in the Mafia as the consigliere (law advisor) in Milano, Italy. He came back to Korea, the place he was born and met a justice lawyer who helped to defend real innocent people. Throughout the story, Vincenzo was trying to achieve justice in his own way, protecting the goods one by fighting with the villain in the villain’s way, like the favorite lines in the drama in Italian, un diavolo scaccia l’altro ‘a devil punishes another devil’.

We can’t just get enough of Vincenzo sexy and charming looks with his expensive suits, posh watch, lay-back hair, perfect look, lean physique and deep Italian accent. In here, I pointed out so far the best scenes in Vincenzo that I just wanna replay them everyday!

Setting the whole vineyard in fire 🔥

Vincenzo started the drama in a very villain way already. As the ‘second person’ of a mafia (bad guys) gang, he kept things short and simple, yet ‘explosive’ consequences. Well, maybe burning a whole vineyard is only level 1 for Vincenzo to be his things ‘done’ and delivering the message ‘don’t mess with me even though I look sexy’.

Vincenzo later in the episode also set an expensive car into fire, as a ‘warning’ / ‘don’t mess with me’ to his ‘brother’ in the mafia family. It’s really lucky for that guy as Vincenzo chose not to burn him together with the car.

Fans can’t handle much of these ‘hotness’ and ‘wetness’ from Vincenzo! He really struggle a lot to adapt himself in this shabby building with bad water system. But we should be grateful, as the bad shower makes the overall showering session with Vincenzo to be more ‘memorable’ than usual. 🙂

Does anyone think the orchestral music behind this scene is so matchy with Vincenzo reactions towards the shower?

Vincenzo cursing in Italian for (very long time) 😠

Cazzo! I’m not really sure how to curse in Italian correctly, but Vincenzo really teaches a lot of fans to ‘curse’ in the first episode! Song Joong-ki just sounded really like an Italian (for non-Italian speakers like us) and I’m really impressed on how much effort he has been putting in to master the character.

It’s not sick at all to listen Vincenzo speaking Italian for 3 minutes straight, it could be a very good lullaby to me!

Vincenzo ‘party’ instinct that saved the building 🍷

The mall tenants were worried as the notification of the building getting ‘bulldozed’ hit them. They were trying to find ways if they can prevent the destruction from happening (at least not that soon), and I have never expected Vincenzo could come out with this brilliant idea! I think the inspiration of the partying idea is from the Instagram he was scrolling that time. 🙂 And those glass cheering shots viral-ing in Instagram!

Vincenzo and his ‘high food standard’ 🍝

We all know Vincenzo is a very high standard gentleman with excellent taste of fashion, attitude and of course, food! I think he only ate Michelin level foods back in Italy, and using this standard to evaluate a menu cooked by a humble (only Mr. Potato looking) chef are indeed ‘harsh’. Well, he still pays him every time, but what a chef often needs, is the respect.

I really enjoy this drama so much, because the story is very new, combining Italian aspects and the ‘dark hero’ concept in Vincenzo. I can’t wait to see the chemistry of Vincenzo and the female lead, Hong Cha-young as we might be expecting some ‘Italian boyfriend’ standard over here!

Like many others, author has indulged herself in the many wonders of the K-drama world when introduced to the Korean culture. So when planning an itinerary, how can we miss out on the famous K-drama filming spots, so we can relive the romance and fantasy that we have watched on-screen?

Here are some of the top K-drama travel spots that author is aiming for!

1. Winter Sonata – Nami Island

This may reveal the age of author *coughs coughs*, but Winter Sonata was one of the first K-dramas that author has watched. The romantic love story between Yu Jin and Jun Sang have stolen the hearts of many, with Winter Sonata being one of the most popular Korean dramas to have aired. Hence with the popularity of the K-drama, many have sought the iconic filming spot: Nami Island!

Located near Seoul, it is a very beautiful island, with its beautiful tree lanes being the most popular background for photoshoots, and suitable in all seasons!

Many even claim the drama made Nami Island a popular tourist spot. Did you guys know that there’s even a statue of Yu Jun and Jun Sang on the island?!

2. Descendants of the Sun – Wolmido Island Theme Park

Just looking at Song Joong Ki makes my day *contented sigh*

Found on Wolmido Island near Incheon, the Wolmi Theme park is featured in the infamous Descendant on The Sun’s first episode, where soldier-brothers Yoo Si Jin and Choi Dae Young are spending their time off trying to win themselves “girlfriends” – making up the show’s famous stuff toys.

Not to make you guys jealous, but author has a set of them – as per size in the drama – at home! ❤

Wolmi Theme Park is a popular amusement park complex located on Wolmido Island. It was formerly known as My Land, which first opened in September 1992. The theme park has made appearances in several other variety shows like “We Got Married,” “Two Days and One Night,” “Running Man,” and more!

3. What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim – Everland Amusement Park

If Wolmido Island is not on your itinerary, then you can travel to the Everland Amusement Park in Gyeonggi-do, which is near to Seoul! The theme park appears as ‘Yumyung Land’ in What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim K-drama, where Kim Mi So and Park Yoo Sik meets in Episode 2 and 11.

There are also many other dramas that have filmed here before, including The Producers, The King 2 Hearts, A Korean Odyssey, and Bride of Habaek!

4. I Can Hear Your Voice – Coex Aquarium

The first kiss between Jang Hye-sung and Park Soo-ha takes place in episode 8 of I Can Hear Your Voice, and it happened in none other than the Coex Aquarium in Coex Mall. Author just has a personal fascination towards aquariums, where we can see all the sea creatures like dolphins, stingrays, sharks, starfish, and penguins!

Being one of the largest aquariums in South Korea, it boasts of the highest number of sharks and the largest variety of species in the country. And since it is located conveniently in Seoul, you can definitely drop the place a visit if you are nearby!

5. While You Were Sleeping – Bukchon Hanok Village

The best place to really experience Korean culture is by going to Bukchon Hanok Village, which literally means “northern village”. Bukchon Hanok Village is a neighborhood full of alleys and Hanok – traditional houses that date back to the Joseon dynasty! Up to this day, there are still preserved Hanok that they use as cultural centers, tea house, accommodation, and restaurants.

It is no wonder that the cultural placed is being used as the filming spot for many of the K-dramas, including Hotel Del Luna, Goblin, and Coffee Prince!

Scarlett may be from an older K-drama, but we cannot forget her being an icon and a bad ass fashionista in the drama flaunting that boss lady look. Falling Falling in Love with When My Love Blooms : On-going Kdrama series

Aside from the currently hot topic for World of Marriage; and all-time return of Lee-Min Ho in The King: Eternal Monarch; let’s look into a more soft and emotional approach in the kdrama scene; also somewhat inter-related to marriages, however the story portrays 2 sides of timeline; with a more soft sentimental approach in storyline. I won’t be spoiling too much as the series have just started and reached episode 4 as of this write-up. You will be able to feel the emotion flowing as you watch through it (aside for being a fan of the cast : Jinyoung @ GOT7 – I obviously get more fangirl feels) the story brings backs good old past childhood memories that viewers can relate to with their first love – high school puppy-love? but also hitting us hard on reality as we grow older and deal with realities in the environment and society we live in.

The series is still new; yet the OSTs have been smashing charts on their release on 3rd May 2020 ; it has already reached 750k views on Youtube on the first few days; and has been flying up the charts in Korean Digital Charts! Passing 25k Monthly listeners on Spotify with just within the first 3days of release! #1 on Melon Rising Charts #3 on Melon Hot Tracks and Top 50 for Genie and Soribada. International listeners are also literally Falling Falling in love with the song being #1 on iTunes for 6 Countries outside of Korea, Malaysia being among the 6! Yay! Malaysian K-lovers are loving it for sure. Also surprising the idol himself with the sudden peak as they just ended their own ‘Not By The Moon’ Comeback recently. Youngjae even shared his shock on his IG post as the OST Track rise from #195 ranking to the top on Kcharts!

Being part of GOT7’s main vocal, Youngjae has been singing a few OSTs for a few dramas, Fall in Love OST was particularly a fan favourite as the fandom loved the supportive side of the song as GOT7 teammate JinYoung, was among leads in the drama series. The song Fall in Love sang by Youngjae and Choi Jung Yoon, OST for When My Love Blooms has a nice medium-tempo to it, syncronizing both vocals of Youngjae and Choi Jung Yoon’s cute touch to it, that expresses the feelings of the two protagonists at young age gradually falling in love with each other.

Author’s Personal Note!

Personally enjoyed the song the moment I first listened to it on the release and it has been on immediate loop. Honestly, I got a bit on the teary side and emotionally teared up listening as I go through the song cause I felt really touched with the lyrics. It is a very simple expression of falling in love and wanting to be with each other everyday. The melody and vibes both the singers gave out such a nice and innocent love. You’d definitely love it!

Things That You Didn’t Notice in The World Of The Married

The World of the Married is the highest-rated drama in Korean cable television history. The drama ended few weeks ago and received positive reviews from critics for its screenplay, direction and acting performances, while its content generated high attention and discussions.

For those who haven’t watch this drama yet, the story is about Ji Sun-Woo is a family medicine doctor. She is married to Lee Tae-Oh and they have a son. She seems to have everything, including a successful career and a happy family, but she is betrayed by her husband and others. Meanwhile Lee Tae-Oh dreams of becoming a famous movie director. He runs an entertainment business with the support of his wife Ji Sun-Woo. Even though he loves his wife, Lee Tae-Oh falls into a dangerous relationship.

Although the drama already ended and you thought all questions have been answered, there is a few things that had just been discovered and actually had been there all along. So are you ready to get mind blown again?

1. The title was a clever spoiler?

The title design is different for every episode, but do you know why?

It actually contains a particular scene from each episode! For example:

2. Separated through the window and also in the future

The director had actually been giving a hint on how the couple will end up in the future by showing a separation scene through the window.

3. The movie poster reference

There is one movie poster which can be seen at many scene, and there is actually a reason for this.

it is also in his office, why is this movie poster everywhere?

The movie title is Jules And Jim which is about a love triangle between a woman and two men. This is the same story as Tae Oh who fell in love with two women.

4. The artwork showing Tae Oh’s future?

At the quarrel scene between Sun Woo and Tae Oh before their divorce, there is a particular artwork displayed:

The artwork is actually a masterpiece by Mark Rothko after going through a divorce. One of his quotes is “the people who weep before my pictures are having the same religious experience I had when I painted them“. The director was trying to potray Tae Oh’s emotions for that scene.

5. Jenny = Blackpink’s Jennie ?

Jenny is the daughter of Tae Oh and Da Kyung. But do you wanna know how she got this name?
