Who is Yang Do Hyeok in the Korean Drama ‘Nevertheless’?

If anyone here is watching the current hit K-drama ‘Nevertheless’, you should be like me who can’t help myself but fall in love with the warm and gentleman ‘Do-hyeok’ in the drama!

Netflix and JTBC’s romance drama ‘Nevertheless’ is a webtoon remake series which tells the stories of a university couple who are attracted to each other but are skeptical about love, owing to their past relationships. Park Jae Eon (by Song Kang) was perceived as a ‘flower boy’ who loves to interact with girls but dare not to be committed in real relationships. Yoo Na-bi (by Han So Hee) was so loved with Jae Eon but always pulled back because of trust issues with Jae Eon.

Towards the middle of the story, a new male character Do Hyeok joined in the chemistry making a scene of love triangle. Do-hyeok character is in contrast with Jae Eon, which he loves Na-bi since high school and serious about being in relationship with Na-bi.

Fans are really loving Do Hyeok the character as he is definitely a boyfriend material who is loyal and kind to the girl he loved. He definitely wins my heart during the Episode 6 when Nabi met him back in hometown.

Nevertheless Episode 6 Release Date Spoilers Alert K-Dram Netflix
How can Na-bi not fall in love with the little cute puppy looking boy!

The story continues even though Do Hyeok was ‘rejected’ by Na-bi when he was trying to confess his feeling to her one night, simply because it’s the wrong timing (after having an argument with Jae Eon). Will Do Hyeok become a real man in the eyes of Na-bi after that? Let us watch until the end of the drama!

Don’t be sad, Do Hyeok! I will get that flower!

So who is ‘Do Hyeok’ really in real life?

Many don’t know about him until this drama! His name is Chae Jong Hyeop from Seoul. He debuted as an actor since 2017 in a webtoon television series and also made his appearance in the popular drama Sisyphus: The Myth! Before he was debuted as an actor, he is a model as he actually graduated with Fashion Model Art in Seoul Arts College.

With that height of his and great appearance, it is not surprise he was a model before! However, he is now committed to the acting industry under the agency of YNK Entertainment with other popular actors and actress like Shin Hae Sun and Kim In Kwon.

This character of ‘Do-Hyeok’ really suits his concept as a sunny and caring boyfriend, which somehow reminds me of Han Jipyeong in Start Up! Second lead syndrome can be serious in some dramas~ But let us remember Jong Hyeop this name and give him more attention by waiting his new drama with another fresh character!

He also made appearance as a character in the new drama ‘The Witch Dinner’ with Song Ji-Hyo! Do catch him up in that drama as well!

As the drama ‘Nevertheless’ almost come to an end, we really hope it’s a nice ending for Jae Eon, Na-bi and even Do-hyuk!

Style Yourself with Park Jae Eon (Song Kang) in Nevertheless

Park Jae Eon in the recent Netflix K-drama, Nevertheless has been a ‘hot topic’ among the drama fans of how ‘smart’ this guy in playing feelings of the girls, especially towards Na-bi, the female lead. Despite of the fact that he is an ultimate ‘playboy’, we can’t deny his visuals. I mean who won’t fall…

Soompi / MyDramaList

This drama is actually a remake of the Korean movie, ‘Mr. Hong’ aired back in year 2004 played by actor Kim Joo Hyuk and Uhm Jung Hwa! K-dramas that You can Watch When You Feel Sad this Summer (Ongoing Dramas in July 2021)

If you are like me, always falling into random sadness in certain time of the day, the fastest entertainment which can cheer you up in this hard time is through a K-drama binge!
10 Of IU's Best Songs For Every Type Of Feels | Soompi

In Malaysia, most of us are working and studying at home. I believe some of us do suffer a minor ‘mental breakdown’ because of all the stress we received from the surrounding. We are missing our partner, colleagues and friends we used to meet every single day!

In this post, I will recommend some ongoing Korean dramas in July which can help to relieve your negativity in this difficult month!

Nevertheless | (if you miss your boyfriend?)

Nevertheless

I’m not sure if this drama will be suitable to watch if you miss your boyfriend, because in some parts of the story I was cursing how ‘playboy’ the boy lead in this drama.

The on-going JTBC and Netflix romance drama, “Nevertheless” (알고있지만) is a remake of the popular comic story of a university art student, Na-bi (Han So-hee) falling in love to a handsome man, Jae-eon (Song Kang) who tend to be ‘nice’ to many girls.

The visuals of the two main leads are good enough as a ‘comforting’ element of this drama. Many girls will want a boyfriend who look like Song Kang, and maybe the sweet, romantic gestures of Jae-eon in the drama. If you are away with your boyfriend, this could bring in some sweet memories of dating him! But there are some scenes you just wish Na-bi just stay away from this selfish guy who was just being nice to all the girls.

Not sure if it helps with your stress, but seeing Song Kang himself is a happy pill already to me. 🙂

Hospital Playlist | (if you miss your real buddies)

WHY IS K-DRAMA OK? – Denise J. Mallabo

I have not meet my friends for months, and I miss the time of hanging out with my best buddies. If you are missing your best friends, Hospital Playlist reminds you of your best moments of eating and having fun together between your buddies!

Hospital Playlist tells the stories of doctors, nurses and patients at a hospital in Seoul. The main characters were five senior doctors at professor-level in the hospital with their own different specialties, who were best buddies since they joined the university. You can see how different the impression of the character when he was working in the surgery room and when he was with their gang of friends!

Song-hwa and Jun-wan are the food monsters in the gang

Another fun thing what the good buddies always do every week is that they will practiced and perform a song in every week/every episode. The live band, ‘Mido and Falasol’ always perform old-school songs that bring back memories among the 20s!

Because of the huge support from the local and international viewers, the five buddies come back again with Hospital Playlist Season 2 broadcasting now every week in tvN and Netflix. Do tune in and meet these cute doctors when you feel down and lonely in the room! Their personalities and performances will bring comfort to you.

Prof. Ahn is my favorite character of the drama because he is just so kind and cute!

So Not Worth It | (if you need a great laugh)

So Not Worth It Season 2 Release Date: Renewed or Cancelled?

There are not much Korean dramas that can make you laugh throughout the whole episode! “So Not Worth It” tells the story of love and friendship among the international students residing in a university. As a sitcom genre, the drama tells different funny experiences that the characters face every day in the international dorm.

5 Reasons To Watch "So Not Worth It" - kdramadiary

All the characters portray university students from different countries, but they all communicate in fluent Korean. All episodes can be watched now in Netflix, and all of them are just 30 minutes, perfect for a short break entertainment when you feel stressed from work!

There are many funny scenes between the character. One of my favorite was Minnie from Thailand (played by Minnie from K-pop group, (G)I-DLE.) She was like me – a Korean content fan who watch K-drama everyday and dream to meet K-drama characters every night! I can relate so much to this drama as I’m also a university student, but hoping that I can meet a bunch of friends like them in a Korean university!

If you are feeling stressed and down in mood, watch ‘So Not Worth It’ for a short episode and you will come back fully energized!

Should I Watch the Latest Korean Netflix Sitcom ‘So Not Worth It’?

Is it worth it to watch the recently hot discussed Korean Netflix sitcom ‘So Not Worth It? Let me tell you why watching this drama is really worth it!

The sitcom ‘So Not Worth It’ is finally released since 18th June 2021, and all episodes are now ready to watch in Netflix! This drama is one of the first Korean sitcom released in Netflix, by giving another new concept to the Korean drama industry! The 30 minutes short episodes will make you laugh a lot while learning some Korean culture that we will never know as an foreigner!

A bunch of bubbly international students in a Korean university

With the global popularity of K-wave, many oversea students consider South Korea as one of their choices to further their study. As the university ranking and education system is among the best in Asia, it is now quite common to see foreign students in major universities of Korea. In 2020, there are 154 thousand international students studying in Korea, which is a huge number!

The sitcom uses this as their story background, telling different stories of the international students of a university in Seoul. Therefore, it is very cute to see how diverse the casts are, with different skin colors and culture background.

Non-Korean casts who speaks perfect Korean!

You thought they might be speaking English in the drama since some of them are foreigners? But no! All of them speak perfect fluent Korean. And what more interesting is some even learn perfect dialect terms! Even though there are casts who are native Korean in real life, but it is just so exciting to watch different people from around the world speaking Korean just like their native language. This motivates me to learn Korean more!

But, in real life, do all international students know how to speak Korean? The answer is probably yes! If you are a full time student, you are required to take a semester/a year of Korean intermediate class so you can master the language. Even though some of the courses are conducted in English, but the Korean language is important for you to communicate effectively with you friends and lecturers.

Some of my favorite characters in the drama!

GOT7’s Youngjae (as Sam from Australia)

I’m sorry I got to mention this as I am a GOT7 fan. I am always impressed of Youngjae’s singing voice as he is just a perfect singer! But I have never knew he has a talent of acting too. But he is so suitable to be this character of being funny and naughty, as he does act just like Sam in real life!

(G)I-DLE’s Minnie (as Minnie from Thailand)

Does anyone not liking Minnie? She has always been catching my eyes since I watched Queendom and following (G)I-DLE. Her huge eyes and cute smiles is so ‘mesmerizing’ and you can feel joy just from her sunny personality! This drama also keeps their known name as the name of their character. And Minnie in SNWT is just like Minnie in real life too!

Got to say she is just another fashionista in the drama! Minnie here is a K-content lover and also a K-drama fans just like all of us. So much relatable from this character, right?

All the looks of Minnie in the drama! It is just so impressive!!

Hyun Seung (as Jamie from USA)

This guy is the ‘oppa’ figure in the drama. Handsome, rich, kind and boyfriend material! He is indeed a new actor, but he really did well in the drama with his cuteness and gentleman personality. In the story, Jamie is the adopted son of a very famous international actor from US. This reminds me of Angelina Jolie who sent her son to Korean university last time!

Jamie has many charming moment and love chemistry with Se Wan, the local RA of the international dorm. I definitely hope to see more Hyun Seung as a different character in other Korean dramas!

Hyun Min (As Hyun Min from Korea)

Yes, when you thought a ‘dark skin’ student will be an international student, but Hyun Min is indeed a native Korean (in real life and also the drama)! Hyun Min is another very funny character who likes sneaker so much and being lovable to babies and dogs! He always crashed in the international dorm college because his house was too far from the town.

If you don’t know, Han Hyun Min is a famous model in South Korea. He is actually a Korean citizen whose father is a Nigerian and mother is a Korean. He was nationally recognized as the first Korean model of African descent to walk the catwalks in South Korea and international stage.

Hyun Min raps to call back the sneakers he lost!

Carson (as Carson from USA)

Carson is not like the ordinary US girls from New York, but inside her is full of the Korean ‘Ahjumma‘ vibe! She is hot tempered and she likes to talk in dialect tone because of all the ahjumma friends she have made. She has a sergeant as her boyfriend, which totally imaginable with her personality in the drama! She really gave me a lot of laughter!

Not to forget Se Wan🇰🇷, Hans🇸🇪 and Terris🇹🇹!

So do you think it is worth to watch “So Not Worth It” in Netflix now?

Stream all episodes in Netflix, and I always watch it when I’m feeling down or stressed! All these cuties just cheer up my day!

The Penthouse S3 Episode 1 – 2 Highlights : Logan Lee Has a Twin Brother!

Penthouse 3 was premiered after 2 months of waiting and the story is getting more twisted and unexpected (as usual!). It has been hard for me to follow the story because only one episode is released every week! So far, the story pace was quite intense starting from the beginning, and in this post I will highlight the important events in the first 2 episodes. (there will be major spoilers ahead!)

Read more: The Penthouse Season 2 Finale
Read more: The Penthouse Season 3 Teaser

Joo Dan Tae Killed Logan Lee in the Car Explosion

In Season 2, Logan Lee was attacked by an explosion when he was about to propose to Shim Su Ryeon. From the scene, there was this old man pushing a trolley from the side of the car and stopped right in front of Logan and walked away. The explosion was then sparked. Even though we have not seen any scene of ‘Logan Lee’ burnt body, but he was claimed to be dead.

In Episode 1, it was confirmed the old man was the killer, and he was actually Joo Dan Tae! But how did he escaped from the prison, it was all in his plan. He made a fighting scene with Ha Yoon Cheol which intentionally hurt himself and be sent out to the hospital. He sneaked out from the hospital and met his manager to do ‘a series of events’, including killing Logan Lee.

Joo Dan Tae got the old man mask on and put the bomb in front of Logan Lee by himself. He observed the whole process behind Shim Su Ryeon who was wailing for the death of Logan Lee. JDT is such a party pooper for romantic scenes.

Joo Dan Tae is actually NOT Joo Dan Tae

Do you remember Mr Baek who came back to Korea together with Logan Lee? In episode 1, it was revealed that the real name of Mr. Baek was actually Joo Dan Tae, while the evil JDT real identity was (vice versa) Baek Joon Ki.

The evil JDT actually killed Mr. Baek parents and run off with all his family assets and identity. This explained that all the fortune JDT had was not belong to him!

Seokrona CP is official!

Joo Seokhoon and Bae Ro Na have been getting closer from season 1 and season 2. After Bae Ro Na was attacked, Seokhoon could not hide his feeling any longer with Ro Na and now they are officially the ‘lovebirds’ in the first 2 episodes!

Shim Su Ryeon was actually supporting their relationship, as sometimes she will invite her to their penthouse and even had dinner together. But, of course, the twin sister Seok Kyung hated Bae Ro Na due to jealousy. She has been receiving 100% love from her brother before that. Even her mother get to treat Ro Na better by supporting her to go for SNU application. This made Seok Kyung to start getting ’emotional imbalance’.

Logan Lee has a twin brother :’)

I’m not sure if Park Eun-seok and Lee Ji-ah actually get double paid for acting two (or more) roles in the drama. In fact in episode 2, we were convinced that Logan Lee has another twin brother in America. This character actually brought in some controversies about racial discrimination as the twin brother, Alex Lee was portraited similar like an ‘American Black gangster’.

Well, we never know if Logan Lee actually cosplayed himself again to look like another person this time to catch the culprit who killed him. But in Episode 2, Alex flied to Korea and come straight to meet Shim Su Ryeon, claiming that she was the one who killed Logan Lee. Alex tried to stopped his ‘brother’ from going back to Korea as he needed to start taking over their family business, but Logan insisted he had to protect the woman he loved.

But still salute to Park Eun Seok for all the surprise transformation!

‘Joo Dan Tae Killing Ladies Force’ assembled

In the end of episode 1, Shim Su Ryeon and Oh Yoon Hee kidnapped Cheon Seo Jin who ‘illegally’ got away from her court charges. They brought her near to a cliff and push her down into the sea. We all thought Cheon Seo Jin was going to die, but this was all a set up.

Shim Su Ryeon arranged two divers to save Cheon Seo Jin to the shore after she was pushed from the cliff. This was all to teach a lesson for Cheon Seo Jin. Su Ryeon ‘invited’ her to make alliance to bring down Joo Dan Tae together with them. As Shim Su Ryeon lost everything because of JDT, she promised to kill him by her own hands before Yoon Hee and Seo Jin.

It is quite entertaining to see these three female leads who come together and bring the devil down, knowing the fact that all three of them once loved Joo Dan Tae. We don’t know if this alliance will stay together until the end, let us see. 🙂

There are still many funny scenes and stories in Season 3. If you have not watched, I promised it is still as good as S1 and S2!

[K-Drama] Netflix’s Move to Heaven: 17-year-old Half Malaysian Actor Tang Jun Sang as The Main Lead Geu Ru with Asperger’s Syndrome

Netflix’s new original Korean drama series, ‘Move to Heaven’ was finally premiered yesterday, releasing all 10 episodes available in Netflix now! After all, I just realized the main lead of the drama is a half Malaysian Korean actor!

‘Move to Heaven’ tells a story about ‘trauma cleaners’ who help the deceased to clean out their premise and kept those important items for their families. The main character, Geu Ru is a young man with complex mentality syndrome, called the Asperger’s Syndrome. The business was managed by his father who actually died of heart attack, leaving Geu Ru and after that with his uncle Sang Gu to continue the business.

About The Actor who Play as Geu Ru, the Special Boy

Not much people might know this, the rising actor Tang Jun Sang who was also casted in ‘Crash Landing On You’ as one of the four ‘North Korean’ soldiers alongside Ri Jung Hyuk, is actually much closely related to us, the Malaysians!

Malaysians are always proud of our talented bloods overseas, for example the actor Henry Golding from Crazy Rich Asians and The Conjuring movie series film director James Wan. Well, Tang Jun Sang revealed himself to the media that his father is a Malaysian Chinese married to her Korean mother. No wonder, there’s something different about him when I saw him in the drama (hehe, I’m proud).

About the main character of this drama, Geu Ru is indeed a very special character in the story. He was born as a special child under the lovely care of his single father (played by Ji Jin Hee). They both work together as trauma cleaners, while his father values this job very much as a connection of the deceased with their families. Geu Ru is a young boy with difficulties in expressing his thoughts and feelings. He talked like a ‘robot’, but he has fantastic memory and a special instinct to understand ‘creatures’ (watch the aquarium scene in Ep. 1). As a rising 17-year-old actor, Tang Jun Sang definitely nailed the character with those details like gesture, eye contact and speech behavior.

Referring to a five-minute scene in the series where Geu-ru names all the many living aquatic animals in a public aquarium, director Kim said: “He made no mistake and we filmed that scene in just one take. He is a genius actor.”

The Star

Speaking of the whole story itself is quite unique, as it’s not something common for us even to hear about ‘trauma cleaners’ in Malaysia. I did ‘Google Search’ if this job is ‘real’ and I found out indeed there are people work to offer cleaning services after murders, suicides and unattended deaths in private homes (click here to read more). As I’ve only watch the first episode, but many scenes have brought me goosebumps, not because of horror, but you can just connect yourself with the drama so much, especially when they are praying for the deceased before they started the cleaning.

김선우님, 2020년 4월 11일 사망하셨습니다. 저희는 무브 투 헤븐의 한정우, 한그루입니다. 지금부터 김선우 님의 마지막 이사를 시작하겠습니다.
Kim Seon Woo, you have deceased on 11/4/2020. We are Move To Heaven Han Jeong Woo, Han Geu Ru. We will now start your last move out (from the house).

Move To Heaven, EP 1

The Popular Actor Lee Je Hoon Played as The ‘Best Partner’ for Geu Ru

To be honest, I am not very familiar with this actor Lee Je Hoon, but apparently he grabbed many attentions from the viewers in hit dramas like Taxi Driver and Signal (which both I didn’t manage to watch). According to Hellokpop, he has challenged in many diverse characters in different dramas, from a tenor in Mr. Paparotti to a investigative figure in Signal. But he definitely is a good looking actor, follow his Instagram account and you will know it!

Lee Je Hoon played as Sang Gu is the drama, who is the uncle of Geu Ru. He just done his jail sentence as his brother passed away. Sang Gu soon became the guardian of Geu Ru, and took up the job of Move to Heaven with him. Although he was not much interested to the job in the beginning, but soon he understood why Geu Ru remained his motivation to take up the job. Sang Gu and Geu Ru eventually became close to each other by tolerating with their huge difference in personality. Definitely a sweet bromance to expect along the drama.

Well, not even curious of this drama now? Stream all episodes now in Netflix and remember to get some popcorn for a binge watch!

The Penthouse Season 2 Finale : Season 3 Theories? #Penthouse #펜트하우스

We have reached season 2 finale of The Penthouse. If you haven’t watch the last episode; please brace yourself for the cliffhanger that we will have to wait until June for Season 3 release. With the roller coaster ride we had went through since season 1; We can finally put an end to Min Seol A’s case and finally see justice is served for the Hera Palace’s gang. Here’s some breakdown thoughts to get everything sorted out while we ponder on some theories for Season 3?

Latest Read: The Penthouse S3 Episode 1 – 2 Highlights : Logan Lee Has a Twin Brother!

Case is finally closed for Min Seol A’s case; for now.

We may see some sudden attack in Season 3 revealing that Oh Yoon Hee is not the real killer that has pushed Min Seol A at Hera palace, but judging for the closure for Shim Su Ryeon, and repent from Oh Yoon Hee and Seok Hoon and Seok Kyung’s past deed. It is safe to say, justice is served and she may finally rest in peace with Bae Ro Na’s visit to her grave with the trophy.

Closure for Ha Yoon Chul and the Hera Gang – Jail Time is served!

Season 2 finale was sweet victory to justice and seeing them all in court just puts a relief to everyone. I bet out hearts were at ease and finally those spoiled ‘parent’ who are full of themselves deserves every sentenced verdicted on them. But still boils us up because up until the end they were being childish trying to worm their way out of punishment. Thankfully Dr. Ha did not disappoint any further and has finally realize the wise choice to just admit all their doings. Thank you Dr. Ha, you have done the right thing.

Disappointing Kang Ma Ri and Lee Min Hyuk roles

Season 2 had a nice twist with Kang Ma Ri siding Oh Yoon Hee and reveals her story as a spa scrubber. I was looking forward to more Ma Ri and Yoon Hee moments; but it was hanging mid-way with her dogging back to Kyu Jin and Sang-A. It was sad to see finally a proper repent from her, but to see her back to her denial self in the court house just made it a waste of filler episodes. Min Hyuk, character was just being really oblivious to the situation; and the fact the ended it throwing a tantrum to Bae Ro Na made it even silly. But Seok Kyung’s warning to him on Je Ni’s dad comeback was just superr satisfying because hello? Min Hyuk was the major bully to Je Ni before, and now they are being all hating on Bae Ro Na? Again, the denial attitude for him is abit over.

Shim Su Ryeon Revival is fully revealed; Na Ae Gyo’s story were hinted nicely

All in all – Season 1’s questions were fully answered when we were left hanging as Joo Dan Tae stabbed the ‘Su Ryeon’ and wow-ed the entire world, leaving us begging for her to not die. While fan’s theories did came to fact; we are still looking forward for more information and gaps to be filled for the story. For now, Su Ryeon unnie is here to stay with even more vengeful spirit.

But with all questions answered? WHY ARE WE GETTING A 12-Episode Season 3?!

Well, here’s questions that will definitely leave us in despair for the next few months; anyone having great theories to clear out heads to the cliffhanger ending?

  1. WHO IS MR. BAEK’s FRIEND – YOON GI WHERE LOGAN MEET ON THE PLANE?
On the line of good and evil, why the hell was he there with Logan for his proposal? You don’t just invite a new guy to sit in the car and join in for a proposal after few hours of meeting. And surely won’t be as friendly if he was Mr. Baek(Joo Dan Tae’s friend). Hmm.. ?

  2. SO IS KANG MA RI’s HUSBAND ON JOO DAN TAE’s SIDE? EVEN AFTER BEING THE SITTING DUCK IN JAIL FOR THE PAST CRIME?
So base on the facial expressions from the last episode and the bump with Su Ryeon at her warehouse, we can only think that the old geezer with the bomb was probably arrangement from him for Joo Dan Tae. Or – he could be there to meet her and discuss on deals; Who knows? But we know he is the core member for Season 3 for sure.

  3. WHAT KIND OF STORY WOULD THE 12 EPISODE BE?
With all pretty much ended; now suspected they would unfold stories of why Joo Dan Tae get crazy attacks when he sees Blood on his hands, or Eun Byul’s getaway and of course revenge for Logan Lee? As much as I personally hated the death bomb for precious Logan, but this ending might put a lot off fans closure to continue season 3. I don’t know, my hype is definitely not there. So I won’t be as crazy waiting.

  4. WHERE IS EUN BYUL WITH CRAZY OBSSESIVE TEACHER?
Leaving without a trace before the court case; Eun Byul was spared to see so much of the facts and dramas happening in the court for her parents; but hey, her mental state might not be able to handle it anyway.

  5. DID LOGAN LEE REALLY DIE?
Well, The Penthouse team, is known for making people think of death and they actually did not really die as they were planned out. But for the scene of the bomb for Logan this time, it was quite obvious it was not expected by him, as he waved at his loved one and the Bomb really did exploded right in-front of the eyes of the oldie culprit and Su Ryeon, so I am guessing no revival might be even possible for him. Unless there is some special vortex or super power barrier that could have prevented him from direct explosives. The car was literally in flames – chances of survial – 1%. We shall sadly bid farewell to our beloved Logan Lee. Leaving us a furiously mad Su Ryeon for season 3.
RIP our precious hero

So what are your thoughts for Season 2 of The Penthouse? Are you excited for Season 3? Penthouse Season 3 is circulated to be premiered on June, and it will only be aired an episode for every week! Here comes the waiting game! In the meantime, let the theory brainstorming begins!

This Guy in TikTok Can be Everyone in Penthouse #penthouse #kdrama

To all the Penthouse fans, you all should really follow this guy in TikTok because he literally can be anyone in the drama! @leesjae96

Leesjae96 is a native Korean TikToker who mainly does parodies of recent K-drama series. Since Penthouse was aired last year, fans from around the world is crazy about this drama because of its ‘very extreme’ storyline and how evil some characters can portray in this drama. Penthouse is considered ‘Korean Soap Drama’, or MakJang that describes a terrible situation that couldn’t be any more worse! Throughout these 2 seasons, I have been through endless heart attack and cursing because of how terrible the story went!

Leesjae96 made at least one parody video of Penthouse especially those in highlights of the story in his TikTok every day, and fans like me can relate so much to his videos as he really made the videos even more entertaining and funny to watch!

And one of the reasons why I like his video so much is how he can transformed himself into different characters with his perfect make-up skills and matching outfits just like in the drama!

What Upcoming K-Dramas that You Should Really Wait For in March/April 2021 #Navillera #SongKang #JoseonExorcist #GreatRealEstate

Are you just like me who is constantly waiting for new K-dramas to your bucket list even though you have a bunch of dramas yet to be cleared?

K-drama production team have never disappointed us, because new drama teasers from my Facebook feed and my Netflix email of ‘What’s Coming Soon…’ have all such new and interesting stories! Let me briefly showed you three K-dramas that we worth waiting for March and April this year!

Navillera | 나빌레라 (March 22)

Do you have a dream to be a ballerina? Navillera tells a journey of a retired 70-year-old harabeoji to achieve his long life dream to be a ballet dancer. Asian society is very stereotype on male dancers especially with ballet, as something that is more feminine. But truly, ballet is a beautiful art beyond gender and age as what is implicated in this drama.

Current hit young actor, Song Kang really love all his fans. After Sweet Home and Love Alarm 2, he kept appeared on our screen with his amazing actors in different characters. From a gloomy high school student who attempted suicide in Sweet Home, to transform into a handsome, rich boyfriend material in Love Alarm, then now, a professional ballet dancer.

Song Kang being cute boyfriends in Love Alarm 2

According to Soompi, Navillera is actually a remake of a popular webtoon with the same name! A webtoon version of the drama poster was also released, and the production team definitely have found the right men for these characters!

I really can’t wait to see how the story goes and I really hope harabeoji can get to achieve his dream in the end. I’m expecting to cry a lot for this drama. Remember to stay tune for this drama which will be aired starting 22 March 2021 in tvN and Netflix!

Let us see some pictures taken of the cast during the press release!

Joseon Exorcist | 조선구마사 (March 22)

When ‘exorcist’ comes into my mind, my first impression was the cross and fathers in churches. But this drama will bring us another version of the ordinary exorcist horror movies that we watched. Joseon Exorcist tells a fantasy story about a battle of exorcism to protect the people during Joseon dynasty against evil spirits who are drawn to human ambition and greed. In most Korean dramas, evil spirits drawn to people more if they have a stronger desire of greed, power and hatred.

According to Soompi (again, because they are the best), the demons who invaded the humans could control one’s mind that might look like zombies. These evil spirits have a great ambition, is to infiltrate whole of Joseon. Therefore, as King Taejong (by Kam Woo-sung) he fought to seal the evil spirits away to protect his nation of Joseon.

Jang Dong Yoon grabbed fans attention as a charismatic prince in this drama. I bet all of you might have met this talented actor from popular dramas School 2017 and Tale of Nokdu. As the Prince Chungnyeong who was initially an academician in the drama, he learnt to fight for his people in bloods and tears through real wars.

Stay tune to this chilly horror dramas from SBS production starting March 22 at 10 p.m. KST!

Great Real Estate | 대박부동산 (14 April)

What! Another exorcist related drama? “Great Real Estate” or in Korean Daebak Real Estate is casted by the legendary actress Jang Na Ra and band idol Jung Yong Hwa! Jang Na Ra is an exorcist in this drama who runs a real estate which find haunted properties to chase away the spirits; while Jung Yong Hwa is a con-artist who used ghosts to get his business done. Both of them met and work together to unveil a secret. Well, I’m kinda curious how the stories will go now!

Both of these casts were among my favorite. I love Jang Na Ra as an actress (besides that her natural beauty), especially in the drama “The Last Empress”. That drama was so addicting with all those dramatic palace conflicts and she definitely nailed the character, with her experience in acting and that personal charm!

And of course the idol leader of the popular K-pop band of CNBLUE, Yong-Hwa! Despite of his great singing skills, he has been developing in the acting industry since 2009 in You’re Beautiful! After 4 years, he came back as a handsome con-artist and I guess all the Boice can’t wait to meet their idol in the small screen again!

Daebak Real Estate will be aired very soon on 14 April 2021 and remember to catch their chemistry in KBS!

Let’s watch their first reading of the drama!

3 Korean Dramas You Must Not Miss in this season! (18 Again, Start-up, Record of Youth)

Please agree with me if you can be a couch potato for the whole full 24 hours when you are so wanted to finish off a K-series in a round! Or, anyone like me that can’t survive without watching Korean dramas?

People who have been questioning us why we love Korean dramas do not understand how beautiful and touching Korean dramas are! They are the soul of life! As the pandemic hits us hard, I believe a lot of us are staying at home working or studying, giving us (somehow) more chances to jump to our sofa and continue our K-series.

15 Golden K-Dramas That Are Always Worth Rewatching | Soompi

Personally I have finished off quite a number of on-going K-dramas, and some of them are REALLY REALLY GOOD that all humans on earth can’t miss! Therefore, let me share some of the dramas that I SUPER recommend you to watch if you haven’t!

18 Again | Rakuten Viki

18 Again (18 어게인)

Lee Do Hyun
(Woo-Young)

This is by far the best drama I have watched for this year with such a good storyline and talented acting team. This drama is a remake of an popular American movie ’17 Again’ acted by Zac Efron which tell a story of a middle age uncle (Dae-young) from a normal family of a wife and 2 children being transformed into the younger self. Before he became younger, he was fed up with his life as he was facing problems in work and soon to have a divorce with his wife. He was very surprised when his look had turned just like back to when he was 18 years old out of the sudden. As he regained his old-body, he planned to restart his own life with a new identity of Woo-Young by getting back to high school and continue to play basketball that once he was a glory in.

18 Again: El remake más divertido que el original ¡Solo en Corea! | VADER Series

(Spoiler Alert) What I love to watch is every time when Woo-Young was trying to be good friends with Shi-A and Shi-Woo who were actually his children. I can relate a lot when a father is always loving to his children but most of the time he can’t share good memories with them due to work and generation gap. Dae-young got to know what his children are facing in real life and try his best to help them achieve to their dream. A big part of this drama for me is about the genuine love of a father to his children.

Yuk, Intip Pesan Tersirat Yang Terkandung Dalam Drama "18 Again"!

Lastly of course, is the romance between Dae-Young and his wife Da-Jung. (Spoiler Alert) Throughout the whole drama, we can see a huge psychological change for both Dae-Young and Da-Jung from the beginning until the end of the drama. As their life gets tougher, this couple tend to take each other for granted, starting to blame each other for their relationship until they decided to have a divorce. Slowly, Dae-Young realized he was not being understanding to his wife all this while after he changed to his younger self, while Da-Jung finally found out how much suffer and pain his husband had been facing throughout the marriage. This drama definitely convey a clear message and an important lesson for most of the couples before they did decided to break up.

Kim Seon-Ho
(Ji-pyeong)

Currently, this drama is by far the most watched K-drama in Netflix after Record of Youth! Me, myself has been diving in this drama very deeply because of the setting and ‘second-lead syndrome’! This drama is about a group of youngsters challenges in starting their business with the current on-trend Artificial Intelligence technology. Dal-mi had a tough time growing up since her parents divorce, spending most of her time with Hal-meo-ni (grandma) after her dad passed away. She had a very good pen-pal friend (that was indeed fake) growing up sharing memories on letters that she decided to meet him in real life.

Apparently, Ji-pyeong was the fake pen-pal with using the name of Do-san as a favor for Hal-mo-ni. Everything comes together as three of them “eventually’ met each other in a Google office like start-up business center called Sandbox. Dal-mi and Do-san (real Do-san, not the pen-pal) started a new business project in Sandbox, while Ji-pyeong was their mentor.

I came to watch this because of Nam Joo-hyuk (as I really like him in Habaek!) and Suzy (I love Vagabond!) these two big acting stars, but I was truly “attracted” by Kim Seon-ho because of the character Ji-pyeong in this drama. Well, of course big part is because he is handsome too 🙂

Ji-pyeong growing up as an orphan and he met Hal-meo-ni as he finished his high school winning a big prize from investment competition. He was no where to go and Hal-meo-ni ask him to stay with her for a short while until he had to go for college. Ji-pyeong see Hal-meo-ni more than anyone as what Hal-meo-ni did to him was a whole-life commitment for him which can’t be paid off by anything. Ji-pyeong was very straightforward in talking and have high self-esteem (which I think that’s how it makes him successful better!), but in reality he is very nice and warm in heart, whom feel empty sometimes without caring from friends and family.

I really like this character which sometimes I feel sad for him that he deserved more love and warmth in the drama. My best scenes from him are always when he met Hal-meo-ni (very genuine love) and being confused with Dal-mi. To appreciate Ji-pyeong and Seon-ho, I’ll like to spam with some of his charming photos!!!!! Watch it yourself and you’ll know Second Lead Syndrome is real!

Record Of Youth': everything you need to know about the Korean drama

Record of Youth (청춘기록)

Network: TvN
Episodes: 16 (Completed)
Release Date: September 7 – October 27, 2020
Starring

Record of Youth-Park Bo-Gum.jpg

Park Bo-Gum
(Hye-jun)

Record of Youth-Park So Dam.jpg

Park So-Dam
(Jeong-ha)

Record of Youth-Byeon Woo-Seok.jpg

Byeon Woo-Seok
(Hae-hyo)

I’m very biased here because I have to admit I came for this drama 100% for Park Bo-Gum (he was too good in Boyfriend). Compared to the previous 2 recommendations, I have to say the story plot and setting are not as interesting, but still quite fresh for me. This story takes the entertainment industry as a setting theme, specifically towards the modelling and acting field. Hye-jun was a model (yes, very handsome) who once been popular for awhile until his agency (kinda) messed up everything. Modelling has always been his dream to pursue and what he insisted of doing despite of objection from his father. Interestingly, Jeong-ha was his loyal fan since he joined as model until both of them met in a fashion show where she worked as his make-up artist. Both of them get closer to each other until romance bloooooms!

While as the story might be a bit dull for some of the people, I still keep myself following this drama because not much K-dramas have reflected on the entertainment situations in Korea. Hye-jun decided to change his career into acting, giving himself the last chance before he gives up to enter the military. This character showed how someone love what he is doing, having a clear mind of what he want to pursue, breaking all the judgements and start from the basic. (Spoiler alert) Hye-jun did eventually became a very popular actor, winning many recognitions and awards, because of his hard work over the years and his good attitude/humbleness in the industry. Many said Hye-jun indeed very similar like Park Bo-Gum himself, as he is very down to earth and gives very good impression in front of many celebrities who have worked with him. I really like the chemistry between Hye-Jun and his manager Min-jae, and how cute their agency name called ‘Jjam-bbong’ (a Korean noodle dish)!

Do you know?

Park Bo-Gum is still serving in the military during the airing of this drama. Bo-gum is so sweet and caring for his fans, that he scheduled his tweets with his exclusive shoot photos after every single episode during the airing period! Many was amazed how Bo-gum can be so lovely and thoughtful, that’s why he is such a charming prince for many of us!

These 3 dramas can be watched in major streaming platforms, let’s stream it now!
– 18 Again (in ViuTV)
– Start Up & Youth of Record (in Netflix)

A good drama needs to have the best OSTs! Among all, Start Up OSTs by far is the best I have listened to, and no doubt I kept replaying the playlist everyday! Even Suzy and Seon-ho (the actors themselves) fall in love to the OSTs.

Perfect day = Perfect drama + Perfect Visuals + Perfect Character + Perfect OSTs
