Should I Watch the Latest Korean Netflix Sitcom ‘So Not Worth It’?

Is it worth it to watch the recently hot discussed Korean Netflix sitcom ‘So Not Worth It? Let me tell you why watching this drama is really worth it!

The sitcom ‘So Not Worth It’ is finally released since 18th June 2021, and all episodes are now ready to watch in Netflix! This drama is one of the first Korean sitcom released in Netflix, by giving another new concept to the Korean drama industry! The 30 minutes short episodes will make you laugh a lot while learning some Korean culture that we will never know as an foreigner!

A bunch of bubbly international students in a Korean university

With the global popularity of K-wave, many oversea students consider South Korea as one of their choices to further their study. As the university ranking and education system is among the best in Asia, it is now quite common to see foreign students in major universities of Korea. In 2020, there are 154 thousand international students studying in Korea, which is a huge number!

The sitcom uses this as their story background, telling different stories of the international students of a university in Seoul. Therefore, it is very cute to see how diverse the casts are, with different skin colors and culture background.

Non-Korean casts who speaks perfect Korean!

You thought they might be speaking English in the drama since some of them are foreigners? But no! All of them speak perfect fluent Korean. And what more interesting is some even learn perfect dialect terms! Even though there are casts who are native Korean in real life, but it is just so exciting to watch different people from around the world speaking Korean just like their native language. This motivates me to learn Korean more!

But, in real life, do all international students know how to speak Korean? The answer is probably yes! If you are a full time student, you are required to take a semester/a year of Korean intermediate class so you can master the language. Even though some of the courses are conducted in English, but the Korean language is important for you to communicate effectively with you friends and lecturers.

Some of my favorite characters in the drama!

GOT7’s Youngjae (as Sam from Australia)

I’m sorry I got to mention this as I am a GOT7 fan. I am always impressed of Youngjae’s singing voice as he is just a perfect singer! But I have never knew he has a talent of acting too. But he is so suitable to be this character of being funny and naughty, as he does act just like Sam in real life!

(G)I-DLE’s Minnie (as Minnie from Thailand)

Does anyone not liking Minnie? She has always been catching my eyes since I watched Queendom and following (G)I-DLE. Her huge eyes and cute smiles is so ‘mesmerizing’ and you can feel joy just from her sunny personality! This drama also keeps their known name as the name of their character. And Minnie in SNWT is just like Minnie in real life too!

Got to say she is just another fashionista in the drama! Minnie here is a K-content lover and also a K-drama fans just like all of us. So much relatable from this character, right?

All the looks of Minnie in the drama! It is just so impressive!!

Hyun Seung (as Jamie from USA)

This guy is the ‘oppa’ figure in the drama. Handsome, rich, kind and boyfriend material! He is indeed a new actor, but he really did well in the drama with his cuteness and gentleman personality. In the story, Jamie is the adopted son of a very famous international actor from US. This reminds me of Angelina Jolie who sent her son to Korean university last time!

Jamie has many charming moment and love chemistry with Se Wan, the local RA of the international dorm. I definitely hope to see more Hyun Seung as a different character in other Korean dramas!

Hyun Min (As Hyun Min from Korea)

Yes, when you thought a ‘dark skin’ student will be an international student, but Hyun Min is indeed a native Korean (in real life and also the drama)! Hyun Min is another very funny character who likes sneaker so much and being lovable to babies and dogs! He always crashed in the international dorm college because his house was too far from the town.

If you don’t know, Han Hyun Min is a famous model in South Korea. He is actually a Korean citizen whose father is a Nigerian and mother is a Korean. He was nationally recognized as the first Korean model of African descentΒ to walk the catwalks in South Korea and international stage.

Hyun Min raps to call back the sneakers he lost!

Carson (as Carson from USA)

Carson is not like the ordinary US girls from New York, but inside her is full of the Korean ‘Ahjumma‘ vibe! She is hot tempered and she likes to talk in dialect tone because of all the ahjumma friends she have made. She has a sergeant as her boyfriend, which totally imaginable with her personality in the drama! She really gave me a lot of laughter!

Not to forget Se WanπŸ‡°πŸ‡·, HansπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺ and TerrisπŸ‡ΉπŸ‡Ή!
