Flower of Evil, the psycho-thriller drama that would put you on the edge.

Flower of Evil  is a South Korean television series starring Lee Joon-gi, Moon Chae-won, Jang Hee-jin, and Seo Hyun-woo.  It aired on tvN every Wednesday and Thursday from July 29 to September 23, 2020. This drama is about Baek Hee-sung (Lee Joon-gi) is a man who hides his identity and past from his wife Cha Ji-won (Moon Chae-won), a detective. On the surface, they appear to be the perfect family: a loving couple with a beautiful daughter who adores her parents. Cha Ji-won and her colleagues begin investigating a series of unexplained murders and is confronted with the reality that her seemingly perfect husband may be hiding something from her.

The final episode of the drama was aired on 23 September 2020 and has scored an average nationwide rating of 5.7 percent and a peak of 6.2 percent, marking not only a significant jump in viewership from its other episodes, but also the highest ratings of the drama’s entire run. (according to Nielsen Korea). This episode also ranked first place in its time slot across all channels, including public broadcast networks. This is an amazing rating for a cable drama which has attracted viewers ages 20 to 49 with the score of 3.3 percent and a peak of 3.7 percent nationwide for its average rating.

As a fan of mystery-thriller drama, it took me less than a week to finish all 16 episodes. I could assure you this drama would make you feel on the edge of the seat. The great acting by the cast will make you feel close to them. This drama is definitely one that is worth your time to watch. I felt frustrated, angry and also cried while watching the drama. Since it has now come to end, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the cast and those who worked behind the scene of Flower of Evil for such a quality drama.

To those who already finished watching the drama, let me know in the comments what are your thoughts. Are happy with the ending or you were hoping for something else?

Malaysian in ‘Train to Busan Present Peninsula’ ?!

One of the most anticipated korean movie in 2020, ‘Train to Busan Presents Peninsula’ is finally available at Malaysia’s cinemas. Have you watched it? I managed to watch it just now and it was amazing as expected! Here’s the movie trailer for those who haven’t watched it yet.

At a particular part of the movie, I saw a familiar logo and I couldn’t believe my eyes. After asking for confirmation from others who already watched the movie, turns out I wasn’t wrong. It was the logo of our national’s flag (Jalur Gemilang) on Major Jane’s uniform!

So who is Major Jane and why is she wearing a uniform with Jalur Gemilang logo? Actually, Major Jane is played by a Malaysian actress, Bella Rahim.

credit to zhafvlog on instagram

She got the role after getting shortlisted from the worldwide casting held on May 2019. To Bella Rahim, we are really proud of you~ Keep up the good work, fighting! You really proved that Malaysia Boleh!

On one of her interview, she mentioned that Train To Busan (2016) is one of her favorite international movies. When she was asked about her experience working with South Korea’s top actor, Gang Dong Won, she said Dong Won is fluent in English and also treats her like a long time friends eventhough it’s their first time meeting. Bella also asked Lee Jung Hyun for the secret to stay young and her answer was, “wear face mask every night before sleeping”.

For the full video of Bella Rahim’s interview, you can watch it here.

If you haven’t watched the movie yet, you really should because according to Bella, there are more zombies here compared to the first one. Besides, we also have a Malaysian representative in the movie! Go book your ticket at the nearest cinema now! but make sure to follow the SOP guidelines okay~

If you are done watching the movie, tell me what do you think about it in the comment section!

Till then, see you later~

Things That You Didn’t Notice in The World Of The Married

The World of the Married is the highest-rated drama in Korean cable television history. The drama ended few weeks ago and received positive reviews from critics for its screenplay, direction and acting performances, while its content generated high attention and discussions.

For those who haven’t watch this drama yet, the story is about Ji Sun-Woo is a family medicine doctor. She is married to Lee Tae-Oh and they have a son. She seems to have everything, including a successful career and a happy family, but she is betrayed by her husband and others. Meanwhile Lee Tae-Oh dreams of becoming a famous movie director. He runs an entertainment business with the support of his wife Ji Sun-Woo. Even though he loves his wife, Lee Tae-Oh falls into a dangerous relationship.

Although the drama already ended and you thought all questions have been answered, there is a few things that had just been discovered and actually had been there all along. So are you ready to get mind blown again?

1. The title was a clever spoiler?

The title design is different for every episode, but do you know why?

there is a hint if you look carefully

It actually contains a particular scene from each episode! For example:

can you guess from which scene was this?
it was when Da Kyung met Tae Oh in secret at the parking lot at his mother’s funeral

2. Separated through the window and also in the future

The director had actually been giving a hint on how the couple will end up in the future by showing a separation scene through the window.

they intentionally shot the scene like this so that Tae Oh is separated from Sun Woo and their son
the same thing happened here with Da Kyung too

3. The movie poster reference

There is one movie poster which can be seen at many scene, and there is actually a reason for this.

first is at Tae Oh’s wall
it is also in his office, why is this movie poster everywhere?

The movie title is Jules And Jim which is about a love triangle between a woman and two men. This is the same story as Tae Oh who fell in love with two women.

4. The artwork showing Tae Oh’s future?

At the quarrel scene between Sun Woo and Tae Oh before their divorce, there is a particular artwork displayed:

The artwork is actually a masterpiece by Mark Rothko after going through a divorce. One of his quotes is “the people who weep before my pictures are having the same religious experience I had when I painted them“. The director was trying to potray Tae Oh’s emotions for that scene.

5. Jenny = Blackpink’s Jennie ?

Jenny is the daughter of Tae Oh and Da Kyung. But do you wanna know how she got this name?

the hint was in this scene
Blackpink Jennie!
even Joon Young admits it

BONUS!!

Some of you didn’t know but the drama is based on BBC One’s drama series Doctor Foster. So if you still can’t move on from this drama and you don’t know what to do, you can watch this instead!

Enough spoilers from me today~ but it would like to discover more, you can watch the special behind-the-scene episode here https://www7.dramanice.movie/the-married-life/watch-the-world-of-the-married-episode-17-online.

See you in my next writing, till then
